The age-old tradition of making home-made
soaps has become a lifeline for 16
families living in Kwadwesi and Joe
Slove townships.
The Latita Community Soap Project
helps unemployed people make money
by producing glycerine-based hand-soaps
using ingredients such as tea tree
oil and rooibos.
The development project has been established
by the Calabash Trust, a non-profit
charity organization based in PE to
help unemployed parents to pay for
school fees and daily necessities.
Siya Sebenza is providing the entrepreneurial
training and support for the groups
